Why seasons work so well as a word list
Because the vocabulary is already in the room. A child in October has been talking about pumpkins and leaves all week, so the words on the fall grid are not new information: they are recognition, which is precisely the skill a word search trains. That is also why these puzzles double as gentle reading practice without ever feeling like a spelling test, and why they suit a wider age range than their difficulty tier suggests.

Are the seasonal word searches free to print for my classroom?
Yes. All four seasonal puzzles print free, in any quantity, for classrooms, homeschools, nurseries, libraries and homes, with no account and no attribution required. The only restrictions are that you may not sell the PDFs or upload them to another website, as our licensing policy explains.
What age or reading level are the seasonal puzzles?
Ages 6 to 10, or US grades 1 to 4. Each 12x12 grid holds twelve everyday seasonal words, roughly four to nine letters long. They sit in our easy tier, so most primary readers finish one alone once they have heard the word list, and adults treat them as a two-minute coffee puzzle.
Can we play the seasonal word searches online?

Is there an answer key for each season?
Yes. Each seasonal word search has its own separate solution PDF, marking all twelve words on the same grid, downloadable from the Solution button. Keeping the answers in a second file is the point: you can print a clean class set and still be the only person holding the key.
