Spring word search
Twelve spring words are sprouting somewhere in this grid, from the first robin to the last puddle. No umbrella needed for this version.
Play it right here
Drag across the letters to select a word. Words hide across, down and diagonally, forwards and backwards. Works with mouse and touch.
What is growing in this grid
Flowers, rainbow, butterfly, nest, seeds, puddle, bloom, garden, robin, kite, umbrella and sprout. BLOOM is the quiet troublemaker: five extremely common letters that almost-appear a dozen times before the real one. SEEDS and SPROUT reward the rare-letter trick instead: hunt the double E and the odd P.
The classroom moment
This is the sheet for the week the classroom windows finally open. A nice variation for early finishers: circle the two words in the list that are things you DO rather than things you see, and use both in one sentence. Word searches sneak vocabulary in through the side door.
Print it or play it
The playable grid, the free PDF and the solution sheet are all the same generated puzzle, so nothing ever disagrees. Print a stack for the spring fair table and keep the solution page for the referee.
