Six everyday themes with no date attached: a sports word search, a food word search, a space word search, a birthday word search, a flower word search and a Bible word search. Each is a 12x12 grid with twelve words, playable in the browser and free to print with its own solution sheet.
Why a theme beats a random word list
A word search is a recognition game, not a vocabulary test. When the twelve words all belong to one topic, your brain primes itself for the shape of the answer before the eye has even found it: on the sports grid you are already half expecting a word ending in BALL. That priming is the whole pleasure of the format, and it is why a themed puzzle is far more satisfying than the same twelve letters scattered from a dictionary at random.

Are these themed word searches free to print?
Yes. Every themed puzzle here prints free for homes, classrooms, sports clubs, parties and libraries, in any quantity, with no sign-up and no attribution required. The two things you may not do are sell the PDFs and re-upload them to another website, as set out in our licensing policy.
What age are the themed word searches for?
Broadly ages 6 to 11 (US grades 1 to 5). The food puzzle is the gentlest, with everyday kitchen words. Sports and birthday sit slightly higher because of long compound words like BASKETBALL and INVITATION. Space reads oldest, roughly 7 to 11, because ASTRONAUT and TELESCOPE are a real reading step up.
Can we play the themed puzzles online?

Is there an answer key?
Yes, one per puzzle. Each themed word search comes with a separate solution PDF that marks all twelve words on the same 12x12 grid, downloadable from the Solution button. It is a second file on purpose, so the sheets you hand out to a class or a party table give nothing away.
