Pizza, burger, cheese, salad, pasta, bread, mango, cookies, pancake, yogurt, sandwich and soup. SOUP inside a word soup is the house joke, and it earns its place by being the hardest find on the board: four letters, all common. The double O of COOKIES is your best anchor; scan for it first.

Kitchen table rules

This is a good one to print while dinner is actually cooking, because the theme does half the entertaining. Variation for picky eaters: they may only cross out a food after saying whether they would eat it. Suddenly everyone has opinions about YOGURT, and the grid takes twice as long in the best way.
