What is hiding in this one
The classic zoo lineup: dog, cat, horse, rabbit, lion, tiger, elephant, monkey, bear, wolf, spider, panda and fox. Thirteen animals in a 12x12 grid, which makes this a comfortable puzzle for beginners without being instant: the short words (cat, dog, fox) are actually the sneaky ones, because three letters are easy to skim past.
A tip that actually helps
Do not hunt the words in list order. Scan for the rare letters instead: there is exactly one word with a W in this grid if WOLF has not been found yet, so every W you spot is a candidate. The same trick works with the E of ELEPHANT. Rare letters are anchors; common letters are noise.
Print it or play it
The playable grid, the printable PDF and the solution sheet all come from the same generated puzzle, so what you solve on paper is exactly what you solve on screen. Print the PDF for the kitchen table or the classroom, and keep the solution page for whoever is refereeing.
