Ocean animals word search
Twelve sea creatures swim somewhere in this grid, from a quick crab to a whole jellyfish. Dive in here or print it for later.
Play it right here
Drag across the letters to select a word. Words hide across, down and diagonally, forwards and backwards. Works with mouse and touch.
What swims in this grid
Shark, whale, dolphin, octopus, crab, jellyfish, seahorse, turtle, starfish, squid, lobster and coral. Two of them (JELLYFISH and STARFISH) share a tail of letters, which makes the middle of the grid livelier than it looks: finding one does not hand you the other, because each word has its own straight line.
Make it a game for two
Ocean puzzles work beautifully as a race: same puzzle printed twice, one minute on the clock, most creatures found wins. With very young solvers, flip it around: you find the word, they tell you one thing the animal does. An octopus has three hearts, which should win anyone a round.
Print it or play it
The playable board and the free PDF are the same puzzle, letter for letter. The solution sheet marks all twelve creatures if the squid refuses to appear.
